Thrifty Goodness :: .25 cent find

Well, Christmas is getting closer everyday {obviously}! Are you ready? I am not, but that's ok. I don't let it stress me out too much. I'm really looking forward to spending Christmas with my family, especially my niece who is travelling from afar. We don't have our tree yet, but I've started decorating a little. Now that I've started decorating my home in a more neutral/cool palette, my red and green Christmas decorations don't look so ridiculous. In fact, they're lookin' pretty good!

.25 cents from MCC - silver plated bowl, or whatever you call it!
On Saturday we spent the day getting all vintagey and thrifty. First stop (after picking everybody up) was the Fieldstone Vintage Christmas Market. I had the bright idea to get there right when it opened so everything wouldn't be picked over/sold out. Maybe not the best idea I've had? lol Let's just say, I would've bought a lot more if I could've gotten close enough to what the vendors were selling to actually see it. I'd been to their fall market and it was LOVELY in every way. It was in a wide open field. Each vendor had their own spacious tent, with plenty of space between all the tents for walking, etc.

For the Christmas one, I knew it was going to be in the parking lot, rather than the field. However, since they asked everyone to park across the street, I figured the market would be in the entire parking lot. When we got there we found that the market was in a teeny tiny corner of the parking lot. Approximately 28 vendors were jam packed into very squishy tents and the hoards of people that showed up as the show opened were jammed in there as well. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would've bought more if it wasn't so crowded.

The necklaces are interchangeable, magnetic and affordable!
Happily, I was able to pick up a Christmas present from the wonderful Bethany of The Orange Circle. Her necklaces are so unique and adorable and she is a pleasure to do business with. You've got to check out her shop!

Since the market made us all inspired for vintagey stuff we decided to hit up a few thrift stores before heading home. Even the thrift stores were busy, but that didn't stop us from finding some great stuff and having lots of fun. I found a few neat decorating items, the usual cheap knitting needles, a couple random craft supplies that my girls added to my basket and who knows what else. All that and a bag of chips for under $10. Ok, minus the bag of chips.

On a scale of 1 to 10 how stressed out are you about not being ready for Christmas? Don't get stressed.... relax and enjoy the season! As our Pastor said on Sunday, it's not all about the giving. *gasp* It's about receiving! {the greatest gift of all, the gift of Jesus Christ, our Saviour}.

Merry Christmas Season!
