{ cuteness alert }

I've recently enjoyed the fun privilege of helping my friend, Madelyn, test her latest softie pattern, Henrietta Hippo! Her pattern features full size pattern pieces and clear, detailed, step-by-step instructions. It's a printable PDF, so once she's received your order/payment, you'll receive it in your email and be able to print it out right away!

These little hippos were soooo fun to make and pretty quick, too! It took only about an episode of Private Practice to make the wool felt one and a little longer to make the cotton one just because it was the first one I'd made. Plus, I found the wool felt easier to work with than the cotton.

The wool hippo could be considered an upcycled project, I guess. The fabric I used was a $2 wool scarf I found at a thrift store. I washed it in hot water and threw it in the dryer to make it into felt! Now I need to go thrifting again to get some different colors and patterns.

Madelyn's got some other exciting patterns in the works, too, so be sure to keep an eye on her Etsy shop - Five 20 Nine Mason Street.
