{ quilting along }

Hello!

Tonight the kids had a pre-rain storm dinner picnic with friends in the yard. They loved the supper salad I made. Mmm... it's so good. Just as they brought their plates in, we got a huge downpour, so naturally they went back outside to dance in the rain. Crazy kids. :)
Here's my second block for the Pinwheel Sampler Quilt. I'll be making 2 blocks of each design, just like Rachel's pattern. Each block will use slightly different fabrics other than the background fabric. I may just love this quilt so much that I'll decide to double the size of it and make a nice generous sized lap quilt instead of a wall hanging or table topper.

So, what are you working on these days?

{ starting a new quilt }

Hello!

Today I started on a new quilt. When Rachel over at P.S. I Quilt announced her Pinwheel Sampler Quilt Along in January I knew I would have to join, but I also knew that I'd rather wait until she had finished posting all of the instructions so I could work at my own pace. I finished my first block today! I ♥ it!

The fabric I'm using is Rebel Rose from Fabricland. When I went there to spend my birthday gift certificate (thanks, Sarah!) I discovered that this fabric line that I have been drooling over for months was now on sale for $6.30/meter! What a deal.

I hope to make my second block tomorrow.

{ stitchery }

Hello!

Last month Rhonda and I had a fun Saturday out. We attended the Abbotsford Sewing Show at the Tradex, had lunch and did a little shopping. We both picked up one of these embroidery kits. While I did finish mine not long after I bought it, I finally got it framed and hung on the wall today so I thought I'd share it with you.

I've had another big quilty finish recently, but I won't tell you about that because it was a quilt I gave my niece for Christmas (yes, Christmas!) and I had to take it back to finish hand stitching the binding. Sorry it took so long, sweetie, but it is finally done!!

Now I'm hand stitching the binding on my Winter Wonderland quilt. This one has been a long time in the making so it'll be awesome to have it totally done! I can't wait to display it for Christmas. I think Christmas may just have to come early this year.

Next on my quilty 'to do' list will be Rachel Griffith's Pinwheel Quilt Sampler. For my birthday, Sarah gave me a gift certificate to Fabricland. With that I bought a selection of the beautiful Rebel Rose fabrics and will use that for the pinwheel quilt.

That's all for now, folks!
