{ dressing up the menu planner }

This little book has been a lifesaver over the last few weeks... it's my meal/menu planner! Planning our meals a week ahead has really taken a lot of the stress out of meal times. When I have a busy full day and do *not* feel like cooking, I still come home and make whatever it is that we had planned because I don't have to try and think of what to make and because I know we have all of the necessary ingredients on hand. The dh helps out by getting the groceries every Sunday night and the kids help out with some of the cooking & on occasion everyone helps with dishes. ;-)

So, a couple nights ago we had friends over for dinner (roasted chicken dinner & yummy carrot cake... mmm). After dinner while the boys were doing boy stuff the girls were getting crafty. I really wanted to make a journal cover for my menu planner notebook (composition book). I had found a tutorial online, but the measurements didn't match the size of my book. We tried, with the help of the boys, to adjust the measurements, but something must've gotten lost in translation so the journal covers turned out a little wonky!

Tonight I decided to try again with a different tutorial... and it worked! Now I want to make many more of these! I love how it turned out... so cute!

What's on your menu plan for this week?

  1. This is SUPER CUTE! love it.
    I still like my wonky one...and will be on the lookout for size K79 or whatever size will fit my new cover... looking forward to the next crafty night!

  2. Wonderful idea! Love the fabric.

  3. Menu plan? Hmmm... maybe we'll plan to come to your place one night! ;)
    I always have such great plans to plan ahead, but it never seems to happen!

    Your book is sweet!
