{ snow day }

Hello,

Today was supposed to be the day to go back to work and school after the Christmas holiday, but alas we got so much snow last night that everything is closed. Thankfully I was able to do some work from home, which was really nice. The girls spent a couple hours building an igloo out in the wet snow while I was warm and cozy inside working on these appliqued snowflakes! These will become a cute little wall hanging (hopefully sooner than later).

My husband seems to have taken up a new hobby... baking! His latest creation was delicious cinnamon buns.

My girls spent part of their snow day having lots of fun baking sugar cookies.

The other day my girls and husband had a great time at a nearby farm. You can see the beautiful photos here on Madelyn's blog.

Happy Snow Day!

Cindy

  1. Those cinnamon buns look delicious! I like the snowflake your making. Very nicely cut.
    We have snow too since yesterday and it is very very cold. They said it wil be -20 C tonight. Very unusual for here.
    Hope your children still enjoy the snow (O:

  2. Looks like a fun day!

    As far as the right height for the sewing machine, we searched online and there are some general guidelines. I don't remember them off hand but it wasn't hard to find online. Sorry!

  6. That is so cool that your hubby started baking... Steve was addicted to all the grilling and cooking shows this past year, and I was quite happy to let him in the kitchen!!!
