Bags :: Goodie Bags and Amy Butler Swing Bag

Hi!

You should see this bag I just finished - I love it!! But first I will show you a couple I made the other day. These are a couple of cute totes I made for my daughter's birthday party goodie bags. For these bags I used scraps that I got from Country Folk. Last weekend they were selling large ziplock bags full of fabric pieces for only $2! So, naturally my girls and I bought several bags.

Isn't this adorable? I machine appliqued the little patch on the front and used some excess strap for the tab on the left.
And finally.... the amy butler swing bag with scarf! I also picked up this fabric last weekend at Country Folk for 50% off. Ya gotta love a good fabric sale! The large floral print is Moda Blossom and the green dots are amy butler lotus.
When I try out a new bag pattern I like to follow the pattern pretty well exactly the first time and then figure out how I can change it a little the next time around. So, I realized when this bag was completely finished that there are no pockets in the inside!! I am wishing I would have added a cell phone pocket, and a zippered pocket.

I plan to toss the boring brown leather purse that I've been carrying for a couple months and switch to this lovely new bag.

I hope you're enjoying this beautiful long weekend!
