2) Email your card to me only at this email address: cardcontest@shaw.ca along with your snail mail address so I know where to mail the prize if you win. (You do not have to send me the actual card by snail mail)

4) Judging will be done by a panel of creative people.

{ amazing garage sale find }

Hello,

Well, how is your Monday going? It's a beautiful sunny fall day here so I can't complain too much. :-) The girls are both sick so we're staying home all day, which is nice. (they just have a bad cold, but felt too miserable to go to school).

On the weekend we had a garage sale and after our sale ended we noticed the neighbors had put out some stuff to sell so we went over and checked it out. Look at this absolutely gorgeous, solid wood table I bought from them for.... get this.... $5!! It has 2 large leaves as well so the table can seat 12! So exciting!! :-)

{ teency weency little quilt }

Hello,

Here's an adorable little quilt I made recently. I just finished sewing the binding last night while watching a re-run of the final episode of House from last season. I can't wait for the premiere on Tuesday! It'll be weird having Chase and Cameron gone, though.

Anyway, this teeny tiny quilt is only about 7 inches square! I made it out of my Heather Bailey Freshcut scraps. Scott calls it a pot holder, but NO! It's way too much work and it's way too cute to just plunk a pot onto it. I'm going to put something on the back so I can hang it and admire it daily. ;-)

Have a great week! What shows are you looking forward to? Do you do anything crafty while watching tv?

{ quilted pillow case }

So, you know the over-sized quilt top I showed you the other day? Well, yesterday I had the idea to take it apart and make 2 single bed sized quilts and 2 matching quilted pillow cases! Here's a couple pics of the one pillow case that I just finished. I quilted it on my machine with variegated thread and then added the pink band using a french seam.

{ a quilt top completed }

It's Friday - yahooo! We survived the first week back to school. Thankfully the girls are settling in nicely at school and they're happy with their teachers and really happy to have a few of their friends in their classes! I'm getting used to having free time on my hands and have been enjoying quilting this week!

Yesterday I finished the quilt top for Laura's quilt! Doesn't it look pretty?! There was one {major} oopsie, though. This quilt is for a single (bunk) bed and it's shown here on a queen size bed... and it hangs WAY down on the sides! Oh welllll...

{ the big 3-0 }

Hi!

Here's another stack of 15 blocks for Laura's quilt! Now all I have to do is sew the 30 blocks together to complete the quilt top. Then I have to decide how it's going to be quilted. I would really love to get Rhonda to quilt it for me on her long arm machine since she does such an amazing job!! Her Mom quilted my Moda quilt and it looks fantastic!

Does anyone know of a store that might like to order cards from me? :-)

{ piecing & pressing }

Good Morning!

Now that fall is here I'm motivated to get back to my quilt projects! The quilt blocks shown here are part of the quilt I'm making for Laura for Christmas. So far I have 15 out of 30 blocks completed. I should get the other 15 done today and maybe even assemble the quilt top!

The fabric I'm using is Heather Bailey's Freshcut line and the pattern is "Cottage Romance" from page 53 in the summer issue of the Quilts and More magazine. It's a super easy pattern and lots of fun to put together, especially with this fabric!

What are you doing to celebrate the kids going back to school?

{ world's smallest & sweetest hamburger }

Today L had the idea to make these mini "hamburgers". Her friend makes them once in awhile, so that is where she came up with this cool idea.

Here's what they're made out of:

-Nilla Wafer cookies
-Chocolate coins - unwrapped
-3 colors of icing: green, yellow, red
