{ 40 cards completed }

Woohoo, I finished 40 cards this morning! They are all packaged up and ready for the tea. Now we have 120 more to complete by next week. :-)

{ hello }

Hi there! Sorry I don't have any crafty stuff to show you right now. I'm still working on the 160 cards... I need to get together again with Jill & Andrea this week so we can finish them. Nobody guessed exactly what the cards are for, but my sister Amelia came very close! The cards will be the party favors at a ladies tea at church. The cards will be left blank, of course, so the ladies can use them and we'll put each of them in a clear envelope.

Did you notice the pretty pink banner at the top of my blog? My new stamping blogging friend, Kristi Ferro, has a wonderful fully stocked online store so I thought I'd pass her link along to my blog readers! She was generous enough to offer you all 15% off if you spend $15 and as a bonus I will be able to earn free products from her store! How nice is that?! :-) So, if you're in the mood for shopping be sure to click her link and don't forget to use the coupon code: SPRING07 to get the discount! I can't wait to get some of her charms - they would be SO cute on Bella cards!

Have a great week! I hope to have some new cards and a couple of finished quilts to show you very soon.

Take care,

{ 160 cards anyone? }

Good Morning,

Well I must say... last night's stamping session was a success! We partly finished 160 cards - 4 different designs. Each design has multiple layers, stamping, embellishments, punching, a little coloring. One design has a fancy fold... lots of work, but lots of fun, too!

Can anyone guess what these cards are for?

ETA: The cards are all cupcake, coffee, tea themed, they are not for a wedding and they are not for sale and they are not end of the year teacher gifts. Any more guesses?

{ selling things online }

Have you missed me? I haven't gone anywhere, I just haven't made the time to post anything on my blog. I'll be stamping tonight so hopefully I'll have something fun to share with you tomorrow!

I was just wondering if anyone would like to share their experiences (good or bad) with selling hand made items online. Has anyone tried Etsy? Is it a good place to sell craft items like quilts or cards, etc? Can anyone recommend a good place to sell these types of things online?

Thanks for any suggestions or ideas you may have!

{ retail therapy }

Happy Victoria Day!

I don't know about you, but we are "enjoying" a very rainy long weekend. At least it makes it easier to get work done inside if it's not nice outside. I just hope it clears up in time for our picnic with Andrea & fam this evening!

Speaking of Andrea, here is a card I made for her to thank her for taking me shopping & out for lunch on my birhtday.

I'm loving my new clear stamps from My Favorite Things and also Paper Trey.

See the scallops on the card? My awesome SU Demo, Sarah, showed this on her blog and I'd never seen it before. You just punch out a bunch of circles using a circle punch and adhere them to the back of your layer. I used a ruler to make a line and then put a strip of tape along the edge and stuck the circles on. It's a pretty easy way to make scallops!
Card Recipe:
Stamps: My Favorite Things, Paper Trey
Paper: Crate
Ribbon: Unknown
Punch: SU
Ink: SU
Colouring: SU Markers

In yesterday's mail I was pleasantly surprised to receive this great card from Allison Filo of Stampin' When I Can. If you've never been to her blog you have got to check it out! It is the most informative stamping blog out there. Not only does Allison stamp wonderful cards, but she also lets everyone know the latest scoop on blog candy, interesting tips, tutorials, card sketches - and more! Thanks for all you do Allison and thank you for this beautiful card!

{ the angel company }

Good Morning,

Have you ever seen a catalog from "the angel company"? I hadn't until yesterday... I'd been purely an SU user until the last few months and it's been lots of fun branching out and trying stamps & accessories from other companies.

One of my watermark customers, Melanie Robson, was kind enough to send me a catalog from the angel company and I received it yesterday. WOW - I am very impressed! It's a large full color, glossy catalog jam packed full of awesome stamp sets, gorgeous designer papers and more! I can't wait to really spend some time going through it.

You can see Melanie's TAC site here:

Have a good day! It looks like it's going to be a beautiful sunny day here.

{ beate's sketch }

Here's a card I just made for a contest over on Beate's blog! She's giving away a stamp set and a whole pile of beautiful ribbon to celebrate 200,000 hits on her blog. All you have to do to enter is make a card using her sketch. Check out her blog to get all the details.

{ quilt progress }

This morning I had a chance to work on the red & white quilt so I added 4.75" borders and then pinned the quilt top to the batting. The next step will be to embroider the little pictures. Too bad I don't have any red embroidery floss in the house or I could do it right now. The girls are home sick again so I don't think it's a good idea to drag them out to Michael's. ;-)

I wonder what I should order from SU tonight... any ideas, suggestions? I wish the new catalogue was here already!

{ a little red & white on a wednesday }

Yesterday the girls were both home sick so I decided to start on a quilt using the fabric I got on my birthday shopping trip with Andrea.

I decided to go with a red & white theme using all cotton fabrics cut to 3"x3". One some of the white squares I will embroider a little picture using red embroidery floss. Then I plan to tie this quilt rather than quilt it and may add a few buttons here & there. Although it is a baby quilt, so I'm not sure about the safety of the buttons.

I plan to add borders to the quilt to make it a little bigger. I actually have many many squares left over so I'll be able to make another couple of these quilts. Next time I will know to use more squares and then I can have a nice narrow border.

What creative things are you up to this week?

{ birthday card }

Thanks Stephanie for the pretty birthday card and the chipboard! I'll have to try that sparkley technique that you did... it looks so neat.

{ fun surprise }

So, Monday I went to the post office to pick up a parcel... I wasn't expecting anything... I didn't order anything. Guess what it was... a PAPER TREY STAMP SET... my first ever! Guess who it was from... NANCY ELRICK! What an awesome surprise - thank you Nancy!!

{ more birthday celebrations }

Well, my birthday has been well celebrated this year, I must say! Between shopping trips, lunches, coffee, dinner, birthday cake, surprise presents, and all the beautiful cards - WOW - I feel absolutely spoiled! And, it's not even an important number (unless you consider 34 important LOL).

Here's the absolutely stunning card Jill gave me when she took me out for lunch the other day... and look at the gift she gave me! Can you say "scallops"?!! Thank you so much Jill!

PS. Thanks Andrea for spending my actual birthday with me and for schlepping me around to all those stores in Bellingham and treating me to the Olive Garden for lunch. I can't think of a "funner" way to spend a day!
