{ quilt is finished }

Here's my quilt! It's totally finished.

Quilt Recipe:

All the fabric I on this quilt is the Chocolat line by Moda Fabrics. I bought my fabric at Carola's and Hamels. I found a quilt online that looked like this one, but I couldn't find a pattern anywhere for it, so I got out my graph paper, ruler and calculator and figured out how to make it. I later learned that the pattern for this quilt is a Moda University pattern.

I had the quilt quilted professionally and they did an absolutely beautiful job! It's quilted in a nice meander. You can see the quilting on some of the darker areas.

For the binding I used Heather Bailey's wonderful instructions. I printed them out and laminated them to keep handy by my sewing machine.

When I started this quilt I decided not to pre-wash the fabric - shocking, I know! So then I was a little nervous about what would happen when I washed it.

Overall making this quilt was a very rewarding and enjoyable experience and I'm really looking forward to making more. I finished this one much quicker than I thought I would so I'm hoping to make my girls each a quilt for Christmas. If you see any good deals on quilt kits (particularly moda fabrics or similar quality) please let me know! I've been eyeing up the Emma quilt kit at Hamels, but I'd rather get it cheaper if I could. :-)

  23. Cindy,,,,I love this quilt. How did I miss it. It must have been before I started blogging. I would love this pattern. I love the moda chocolate line. I used some on a table runner. I want MORe, but Amy Butler fabrics are the next one I am getting after both my HB quilts are done. Have a great day.. cHris

    PS If you saved the pattern, I would love it. I looked at the Fat Quarter Shop, but could not find it..
