{ heather bailey rocks }

Hello,

Yesterday I was in Quilt Essential Fabrics in Abbotsford with Jill... just browsing, enjoying all the beautiful fabrics and quilts, not intending to buy anything other than a pattern for a tote bag or knitting needle organizer. Anyway, while I was there I was admiring this funky, fun, vintagey, retro quilt when all of a sudden I realized it was Heather Bailey's brand new line of Fresh Cut fabric! I'm a huge fan of Heather Bailey and have been reading her blog for quite awhile, so to stumble upon her fabric in a local quilt shop in my town made me jump for joy. Thank you Heather for designing such fun fabric! I am *SO* going to enjoy making a quilt with this! And I hope there's enough leftovers to make a cool tote bag.

So, the logical and sensible thing to do would have been to take a deep breath and quietly leave the store. Did I do that? No!! Of course not. Instead I bought 2 of the Fresh Cuts quilt kits! This will give me enough fabric to make a twin sized quilt for my oldest daughter. It will be her Christmas present or Easter if I get it done by then LOL.

Guess what else we saw at Quilt Essential... an apron made out of the most gorgeous cupcake fabric! Of course the fabric sold out almost instantly, so Jill & I will have to wait a couple weeks to buy some of this beautiful stuff so we can make ourselves some aprons! Andrea, you should join us in an apron making fest, I think!

Also on our adventures yesterday we made a trip over to a neat little stamp store called Be Creative where I was able to pick Haroldine's brains about her Terrific Tape. I will be reviewing this tape soon over at Craft Critique - you won't want to miss it!

Happy Creating!

Cindy

PS. The quilt pattern I'm going to use can be found here. I'm going to double it and not put a ruffle on it, just a regular continuous binding. You can find excellent instructions for the binding on Heather Bailey's blog.

  2. Hello! I just stumbled on your blog through another and much to my surprise found you must live in Abbotsford or close to it anyway! I'm also in Abbotsford, I've started teaching card classes at the new store Urban Trends. You mentioned a store called Be Creative, I've never heard of it before. Would you be so kind as to post some details about it? I'd give you my email but I don't think I want to post it here. I'll look to see if your email is posted somewhere! Thanks! Theresa

  3. Hi Theresa,

    Yes, I'm in Abby. Please email me for more details about Be Creative. The store is attached to her home, so I don't think I should post the address publicly.
