{ Bows & Shrimp Alfredo }

This afternoon when I was driving to pick up the kids from school I was wondering what to make for dinner... so I came up with this recipe.

-1 box Whole Wheat Bow tie pasta cooked in boiling, salted water until tender.

-1/4 cup butter
-1 tsp olive oil
-2 cloves garlic
-1/4 flour
-3 cups milk
-1 tsp dried oregano
-fresh ground pepper
-seasoning salt to taste
-1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
-cooked shrimp (I used a shrimp ring from M & M Meat Shops)
-green onions to garnish

To make the sauce melt the butter with olive oil (butter burns easily and olive oil prevents butter from burning), add minced garlic. Cook for a few minutes at medium-low heat. Whisk in flour. Cook for a few minutes while stirring. Add milk gradually, whisking constantly.

Meanwhile heat your shrimp on a frying pan with just a bit of olive oil. Add to thickened sauce along with parmesan cheese and seasonings. Serve over whole wheat bow tie pasta and garnish with green onions.
