{ butterflies in winter }

I just made 6 of these cards tonight. When I get a new stamp set it has to stay on my table until I use it... finally I have used all of my latest stamp sets. I guess that means it's time to buy more, eh? Good thing stampers club is coming up next week.

For this batch of 6 cards I used the new Stampin' Up! set called Butterfly of Happiness. The color combo was inspired by the ribbon... Cool Caribbean, Pink Passon and Gable Green. To make the ovals I used the Coluzzle nested ovals, the Coluzzle companion ovals and, of course, the marvy uchida giga scallop oval punch!! I spritzed the background with markers and the color spritzer. To finish it off I added some stickles to make the butterfly sparkle. The verse (that you can barely see in the lower right corner) is from Curvy Verses.

Have you seen my new ribbon holder? Awhile ago my friend Stephanie got her husband to make me this gorgeous holder! It's solid wood, that he even stained for me, and the rods are solid copper so they won't sway under the weight of all that ribbon!

Also, in the photo you can see that my prisma pencil crayons are now within reach in a big mug! I had been storing them safely in the box they came in, tucked away in a drawer - and, of course, not using them!! Now that they are out there I'm sure I will get a lot more use out of them.
