{ one sock wonder }

I just finished knitting my very first sock tonight while watching a movie. One down, one to go! I started this sock last weekend at the craft bee and overall it was very fun to knit. I did have some frustrations with the heel area... but after about 7 tries, I got it. ;-) Also, when it came to finishing the toe the instructions just said to "graft the toe". I had no idea what that meant, but thank goodness for Google, I was able to find the answer in two seconds.

I'm knitting these socks as a Christmas gift for someone who is always cold and loves purple. When these are done I want to make some for me! It's a very warm & toasty sock. The yarn I'm using is 75% wool and 25% nylon. It's washable and not itchy.

  1. I am so envious of knitters! I have tried to learn to knit, but no luck. These socks look so warm. Your friend is very lucky. Guess I will stick with stamping! LOL! Kathy McD

    Wow - these are really cool. I saw in a magazine (Paper Craft, maybe???) how you can stamp on a piece of card stock "Warm Winter Wishes" and an image or whatever and then attach it to brand new socks as gifts. Just an idea for you as these socks looks extra special and so much nicer than store bought ones! I would LOVE to be able to this. I wish we lived closer (I'm in Michigan) so yo could teach me.
