{ my quilt is done! }

Here is my completed quilt! I just finished hand stitching the binding tonight. I'm so pleased with how this turned out!

The idea for this quilt started when I saw a quilt at the Fibre Arts Festival in Gibsons this summer. I fell in love with the fabrics. After the festival I was kicking myself that I didn't buy the quilt kit... but I wasn't a quilter, so why would I buy a kit, right? ;-)

Well, when I got home I tried to order the kit online... but they were all sold out. So, finally I found these fabrics (not in a kit) at my local quilt store. While I was in the store drooling over them I decided I should sign up for a quilt class, which I did. Then I bought these delightful April Cornell Poetry Collection fabrics (Moda) and all the supplies I needed to get started with quilting.

The quilting class was 4 sessions and I was only able to make it to 2, but this past weekend I got some excellent tips from some experienced quilters so I could finish my quilt.

The quilt is 36" x 36"... it would be the perfect size for a baby, but since I don't have a baby (well, I have 2 but they are 6 and 8) , I will keep the quilt and either hang it on the wall or use it as a table decoration. I'm thinking it might be safer on the wall.
