{ christmas present }

Well... I didn't get any stamping done over the long weekend, but I did knit! Here's a scarf I made over the last couple days. It's a Christmas gift for a special friend. I picked up a couple balls of beautiful (expensive LOL) wool from my LYS and I must say it was a pleasure to knit. It's so incredibly soft and there were no tangles in the yarn. I hate it when I spend more time detangling than knitting. This yarn is "Trendsetter Yarns Tonalita", made in Italy. $10.99 per 100 yard ball. It is 52% wool, 48% acrylic. I used 2 balls for the scarf.

This pattern is something cool that the lady at the LYS taught me... it looks like knit 1, purl 1 rib stitch, but it's all knitting!

Here's the pattern for any knitters out there:

Cast on an odd number of stitches.
Row 1: knit
Row 2: *knit 1, knit 1 in stitch below next stitch, knit 1*. Repeat to end of row.
Row 3: knit 2, *knit 1 in stitch below next stitch, knit 1*. Repeat to last 2 stitches, knit 2.

Repeat rows 2 & 3 until scarf is desired length.

  2. This is beautiful, Cindy. It looks soooo soft and cuddly. I have crochet most of my life and just recently tried knitting. I like it but crocheting is just sooooo much faster ;0) Whoever is getting this scarf is one lucky girl!!
